In music montage (literally “putting together”) or sound collage (“gluing together”) is a technique where sound objects or compositions, including songs, are created from collage, also known as montage, the use of portions of previous recordings or scores. This is often done through the use of sampling, while some playable sound collages were produced by glueing together sectors of different vinyl records.[1] Like its visual cousin, the collage work may have a completely different effect than that of the component parts, even if the original parts are completely recognizable or from only one source. -Wikipedia “Sound collage” article

Certainly reflected and delayed until schwarzkatzen catch the little maus before the midnight toll of scheduled dueling out on the bahn, the strasse to soul-lidded tight complaint-schedule dealerships: knight to rookpawn three, late in the midgame but early in the afternoon at some unnamed kaffeehaus toward the darkened edge of town. Turnips eggs and rifled pajama-hem knowledge of hard-edged blues twanging through the early dark hours as kerosene and back-door gentlemen make appearance window-shaded and lightly worded. I singingly drink to the middle of caffeine-induced ritualized ruts of seeking dubious pleasurable resting spots from night to night in time to a raucous foxtrot or matilda beat: the cat clumsily plants herself upon my tapping fingertips, the plants request the pleasure of water and possibly if it’s not to much trouble–plantfood and whiskey love, early in the evening late in the day, stretching that typical archback silhouette and french curl upon some reasonably high perch, trapped inside but noting that the day outside is icy cold and unhospitable to total feline relaxation. – autowriting by Mr. Random, 19 January 1990

The need to lay a personal imprint on language is rarely more evident than in the personal sphere. The better we know someone the more the standard name they bear comes to seem inadequate, and the greater the desire to twist it into a new one, so as to reflect our awareness of their particularities. Proust’s name on his birth certificate was Valentin Louis Georges Eugene Marcel Proust, but because this was a dry mouthful it was appropriate that those closest to him moulded it into something more suited to who Marcel was for them. For his beloved mother, he was mon petit jaunt [my little yellow one), or mon petit serin [my little canary], or mon petit bent [my little clod) or mon petit nigaud [my little oaf). He was also known as mon pauvre loup [my poor wolf), petit pauvre loup [poor little wolf) and le petit loup [the little wolf — Mme Proust called Marcel's brother Robert mon autre loup, which gives us a sense of family priorities]. To his friend Reynaldo Hahn, Proust was ‘Buncht’ [and Reynaldo `Bunibula to his friend Antoine Bibesco, Proust was lecram' and when he got too friendly, le F lagorneur [the toady], or not straight enough, le Saturnien. At home, he wanted his maid to know him as `Missou’ and he would call her ‘Plouplou’. – ALAIN DE BOTTON

Between five and six in the morning on a Tuesday this was recorded. Hello world! I call it JUNK RADIO because I have a pile of audio junk that I’m too stubborn (so far) to get rid of. Well of course, I consider it QUALITY JUNK. But you be the judge of that, or not. Remember, it’s still summertime, and the livin’ is still (relatively) easy. (“Hush little baby, I don’t want you to cry.”)

This is The Rather Band, playing at Swarm, which is usually a LaunchPad event. This band could be mathematically described as LaunchPad minus Orbital Dave plus Jonathan and Kem. (Note: Kem played during Session 2.) This is a document dedicated to Sistah Kem by Mr. Random, who recorded and uploaded these sounds.
